Has Anyone Ever Asked You, “Are The Gospels Accurate?”
Do people ever challenge you about your faith in Jesus Christ?
At home?
Where you work?
Or at school?
If so, you’re not alone.
As each year passes, more and more people are turning away from Christianity.
The world continues to grow increasingly darker.
3For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. 5As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. – 2 Timothy 4:3-5., (ESV).
These verses, spoken by the Apostle Paul to Timothy, highlight a centuries-old problem.
People will turn away from sound doctrine to absolve themselves from any need to repent whatsoever.
It’s much easier to follow the crowd of popular culture, than to actually stand for the truth of Scripture, risk one’s popularity, and submit to Almighty God.
Get Ready
Christians – we need to be prepared. The hardships and the attacks on our faith are not going away.
First and foremost, pray for wisdom so you’re not caught unawares.
What do you say when someone questions your faith and the truth of Scripture?
They might claim the gospel writers had an agenda, or can’t even get their stories straight.
Let’s think about that for a minute with an example.
Let’s zero in on Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Fayetteville is a city located in Washington County.
One resident says she’s from Fayetteville.
Another resident says she’s from Washington County.
Are either of those residents wrong? No!
In the following short and helpful video, cold-case Detective and Christian apologist, J Warner Wallace, explains how the eyewitness testimony in the Bible is proof of its authenticity.
Closed Ears
Some people will fall for the deceptions of the world, no matter what.
They will refuse to believe anything you say, even when presented with the accounts of eyewitness testimonies in the Bible.
Please, don’t lose heart.
It’s a difficult road ahead and, as Christians, we know there are sufferings and challenges to come.
But, remember my fellow believers in Christ, we know the Ending and it is glorious beyond what we could ever know.
