Reaching The Don’ts

Reaching the Don’ts – There’s Still Time

Recently, I heard a celebrity announce that she is an atheist.

I cringed as I heard her speaking words of discouragement to anyone who would listen, especially her younger generation of fans.

Sadly, she’s not alone.

The number of dropouts from the faith are on the rise and their sphere of influence is growing.

This isn’t just a “celebrity” thing.

The dark side of social media

The results of a Barna study, published in an article by the Family Research Council, states in part that  “43 percent of Millennials are considered “Don’ts” in Barna’s research, meaning they don’t believe or know if God exists.” – (Carman/Closson, 2021, para. 8).

Friends, that is terrible news.

It also points to the dire need to reach these people.

God providentially knows who His people are, but since we are not God, for us that means the harvest is still ripe.

The Holy Spirit is here to guide us – so keep praying and looking for those opportunities for reaching the “Don’ts”.

But even though our culture does not want the Bible, God, or the church, it is important for followers of Jesus to remain faithful. As fewer people share our theological and worldview commitments, Christians will need courage that was not required of recent generations of believers. – Barna Group Research Study.1

Courage For Reaching the Don’ts

As the Apostle Paul told the Corinthians in pleas for unity in the advancement of the Gospel . . .

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.1 Corinthians 15:58, (NASB).2

Others may think of us as working in vain for a lost cause, but we are working for the Lord and that’s what matters.

Lord, help us to see the “Don’ts” through Your eyes.

We ask for more opportunities to reach these lost people

so we can share the Good News in a world caught up in darkness.reaching the don'ts

We The Kingdom

We The Kingdom: On Tour And On Fire

Have you ever had one of those days when you wake up dragging?

C’mon you know you have. 🙂

Have I got an energy boost for you!

No, not coffee.

This is way more fulfilling.

In my enthusiastic search for all things Philippians 4:8, I found an uplifting song that I couldn’t wait to share.

Check out “Sing Wherever I Go” by the talented family group, We The Kingdom, based out of Nashville, TN.

It’s from their “Live At The Wheelhouse” album.

Click the arrow below!

I love this song!

It’s so uplifting and joyful.

It’s almost impossible not to feel good when you hear it.

We sang it in church recently, and the whole congregation was smiling and clapping along with joy.

Kind of like the rejoicing we anticipate in Heaven someday, right?

I’ve listened to several of their songs, and We The Kingdom music delights me to no end.

We the Kingdom

“Sing Wherever I Go” debuted on YouTube in 2019. Since then, it has garnered well over 520,000 views.

Last year, the group won a Dove Award for New Artist Of The Year (well-deserved I might add).

It’s heartwarming to see a family of musicians using their God-given musical gifts to inspire others.

From their YouTube page,

We The Kingdom is a multigenerational family of musicians, producers and songwriters consisting of Ed Cash (Chris Tomlin, NEEDTOBREATHE, Crowder), Scott Cash, Franni Rae Cash Cain, Martin Cash and Andrew Bergthold. The band organically formed at a Young Life camp in Georgia where each of the five members—weary and heartbroken due to a number of difficult circumstances—came to lead worship. Late one night, as they spontaneously gathered to write a song for the campers, their collaboration caught fire, bringing with it personal healing and a fresh dream for the future. – We The Kingdom on YouTube 2

There’s a southern rock vibe to their music that draws me. Does anybody else miss Southern Rock? I sure do.

Anyway, if you get a chance, check out some of their other songs.

“Child of Love” is another favorite.

We pray that God would sew the thread of His promises through the stories of each song we write, and weave together a tapestry that points straight to the great love of Jesus. – We the Kingdom on New Release Today.3

On Tour and On Fire

We The Kingdom is on tour!

You can find their tour dates here.

Here’s hoping that We The Kingdom will be around for a long, long time.

Merry Christmas 2020

Merry Christmas 2020

Merry Christmas 2020

Merry Christmas 2020 to you and yours!

Around the globe, our brothers and sisters in Christ are celebrating the perfect gift.

Glory to the Newborn King!

This perfect gift doesn’t arrive wrapped in fancy paper with a bow on top.

Instead, the Savior of the entire world was wrapped in cloth in a manger.

The Creator of all things loves us!

With love He gave us the perfect gift – His only Son, Jesus Christ.

If we could condense all the truths of Christmas into only three words, these would be the words: “God with us.” We tend to focus our attention at Christmas on the infancy of Christ. The greater truth of the holiday is His deity. More astonishing than a baby in the manger is the truth that this promised baby is the omnipotent Creator of the heavens and the earth! – John MacArthur, Pastor and bible teacher, Grace To You.

Wishing you a blessed Merry Christmas 2020!

Happy Thanksgiving 2020

Wishing You A Happy Thanksgiving 2020!

Happy Thanksgiving 2020

First and foremost, I am forever grateful to know You, Jesus Christ, as my Lord and Savior.

Is it possible to love You even more?

Every day, I look forward to studying Your Word and listening to a podcast when I’m getting ready in the morning. (I have a few favorite pastors!)

It’s the best way for me to start my day right.

I look forward to attending church every Sunday and I’m so grateful that our church is open. The prayers, the excellent preaching, the beautiful music, and the fellowship with my brothers and sisters in Christ can’t be beat.

Thank You, Jesus!

It’s also with a grateful heart that I want to sincerely thank all of you for visiting my blog, Delight-in-God.

It means a lot to see those audience numbers rise and to know that we all share the same love and reverence for our Savior and King.

What a year of calamity this has been.

Even so, we can be thankful knowing that, as the apostle Paul assured the Thessalonians so long ago, the Lord fights for us!

Our Heavenly Father never changes.

He keeps His promises.

No battle, spiritual or otherwise, is too great for Him.

The wickedness so rampant on this earth will be defeated.

You can count on it.

Some future day, the unrepentant godless who continue to attack our Christian faith and evangelistic efforts in America and around the globe, will be thrown into the lake of fire along with the Evil One.

We can also look forward to that appointed time in the future, when there will be an end to all suffering, physical pain, and sadness. No more sorrowful phone calls from a loved one going through sickness, or a terrible trial.

Praise the Lord!

3 But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.2 Thessalonians 3:3, (NASB).

Here’s some good news.

No wait – here’s some great news!

If you’re a Christian trusting in Christ alone as your Savior, you’re going to Heaven some day.

What a joyful day that will be.

I’ll say it again, thank You Jesus!

Until that time of endless joy,

here’s wishing you and your family

a Happy Thanksgiving 2020!

Will We Get Through This?

will we get through this

Will We Get Through This Election?

Political signs are everywhere.

“This is exciting!”- said no one ever.

Please tell me, is it over yet?

In just a little over a month, the big Election dominating the headlines will come to a close.

Will we get through this?

You bet we will.

No matter what the outcome is – as Christians, we will get through this.

Why?

Because God is on our side.

I’m not talking about our political affiliation here.

I’m talking about our salvation through Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

A World in Need of God

God is not the God who thinks, “Gee, I wonder what man will do next?”

Nothing is a surprise to Him.

All of our future sufferings, political frustrations, and dismay over the world’s backslide into darkness are only temporary.

In Romans 8:18, the apostle Paul’s words instill a reminder of the timeless hope we have in Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:18

Undescribable gloryThat glory the apostle talks about – God’s indescribable majesty – will outshine any suffering we are experiencing in our current battles.

Nothing and I mean nothing, will compare to seeing His glory.

As Christians, when we finally get to witness it, we will understand the journey.

Jesus Already Took the Wheel

The spiritual battle rages on.

Now is not the time to let abrasive social media posts get the best of you.

Don’t fall for the bait to argue.

No matter who wins this election, God is always in control.

Not the Republicans, and not the Democrats.

“What virus?”

Don’t you long for that day?

I am so grateful that we can escape all of this chaos some day at God’s appointed time, aren’t you?

If you profess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior, you too will be with Him in Heaven when the rapture comes “like a thief in the night.”

16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.1 Thessalonians 4:16-18. (NASB).

The godless will be left behind.

Are we ready for the next prophetic and historical event to take place?

Don’t get caught up in date-setting, just be ready.

Will We Get Through This?

Please turn off the 24/7 news and try to spend time encouraged by the Word of God.

We could hide out in our homes, scared of a virus, fearing what disaster is coming next.

Or, we can remember Who our God is.

I’ll take the “Who” anytime.

I like what Pastor Farag says about this, essentially the wrath of man (so evident in our crazy world), will always backfire. God will have the last word.  Always did and always will.

God is always good and He will get us through.

He never breaks His promises.

God will see you through  – no matter how bad it is, or no matter how bad it gets. I promise you that, on the authority of who God is and how good God is. It doesn’t matter how bad it is. It only matters that God is always good. – Pastor J.D. Farag, Calvary Chapel, Kaneohe.2
