One Voice Children’s Choir

One Voice Children’s Choir

Are you tired of all the negative news?

Wouldn’t it be nice to hear something life-affirming, joyful, and uplifting for a change?

I saw this video recently on social media and could hardly wait to share it with you.

It’s just over 4 ½ minutes long.

MercyMe lead vocalist and songwriter, Bart Millard, originally wrote this heavenly song and it will always be one of my favorites.

Surely you know by now I’m talking about the timeless, “I Can Only Imagine.”

This version of it from the award-winning One Voice Children’s Choir has quickly won my heart.

If you’ve ever tuned into the TV show, “America’s Got Talent” then you’ll probably recognize them. They were quarter-finalists!

I hope you enjoy.

One Voice

Under the direction of Masa Fukuda, over 500 children have been a part of the One Voice Choir since it began back in 2002 at the Winter Olympics.

I love their Vision Statement:

Through music, we inspire, enrich, uplift, and serve our global community, while building youth as One Voice. – *One Voice Children’s Choir.

I’m encouraged to see so many children exposed to positive messages. Thankfully, there’s no “Rise up!” and “Resist” charges here.

Let kids be kids!

Today’s youth are exposed to way more adult content and violent messages than they ever should be.

Let’s hope and pray value-based programs and activities will always be offered and that there are positive choices for our younger generation.

Bible Verses About Fear

Fear Is Expecting The Worst Will Happen

What scares you the most?

Bible verses about fear

Is it a fear of heights, or maybe a fear of spiders?

Perhaps the fear of dying?

As you know, there are many dangers out there, real or imagined, that have the potential to scare us.

When these fearful thoughts come to mind, it’s often stressful, even emotional at times.

For some unfortunate people, fear can even be debilitating.

Can you imagine being too scared to walk out of your own house?

It’s a real thing.

Trusting God

When my husband went through his heart complications last year, I’ll never forget sitting for hours at the hospital waiting for news.

When the doctor came out later to tell me that the procedure was a success, I burst into tears of relief.

Thankfully, I had two dear friends sitting with me for hours to support and encourage me the whole time.

Earlier, a couple of members from our church came and prayed with us before the procedure began.

It does help to have support from others in times of uncertainty and fear.

An encouraging hug from someone close can comfort you during anxious times.

The spiritual comfort we need most of all are the encouraging words found in Scripture.

There are Bible verses specifically about fear that can help.

You can find them online, but I have one resource for you right here:

https://www.biblestudytools.com/topical-verses/fear-bible-verses/

Why not consider writing down some of these suggested fear verses on index cards?

I have placed several in various places around my house and office.

19 When the cares of my heart are many,
your consolations cheer my soul. Psalm 94:19, (ESV).

What If

The “what if” game we sometimes play in our heads are enough to drive anyone crazy with worry.

It’s a game we can’t win.

When the “what if” game is rooted in fear, our human nature tends to consume us with thoughts of the worst possible outcomes.

Dr. Woodrow Kroll

I don’t know about you, but this amazing song from MercyMe brings me comfort.

I Can Only Imagine

Let’s Go To The Movies!

I Can Only Imagine movie

Guess which movie opens this weekend?

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to see “I Can Only Imagine”!

Do you have plans to go yet?

The movie is named after, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful Christian songs of all time.

Bart Millard, leader of the Dove Award-winning Christian band, MercyMe, wrote the timeless lyrics which have captured the hearts of people everywhere. The first time I heard the song several years ago, I cried. In fact, it can still bring some tears.

I can’t get over how beautiful the words to the song are. I think of my loved ones who have passed, and the blessed hope that they are now in the arms of Jesus.

A reunion in Heaven, some day in the future, is something I look forward to!

Don’t worry, I will post a link to the song further down  🙂

What’s the Movie About?

First and foremost, it’s a true story.

Bart wrote the song, that has now become a movie, as a tribute to his father who came to Christ later in life.

Their relationship was, in the beginning, tumultuous. As a child, Bart suffered from both emotional and physical abuse. I know those particular scenes may be hard to watch on the big screen.

But, to know that his father’s developing faith in Jesus Christ changed everything in their relationship is a shining testament to the power of the Gospel.

I Can Only Imagine

I Can Only Imagine Movie Release Date

Get your tickets soon!

Since this is the movie’s opening weekend, tickets could sell out fast. Here’s a handy link to check for the movie’s listings in your area.

I pray that there will be record crowds in attendance. This is a chance to show Hollywood that we want more good quality, faith-based, films.

Having just finished reading Bart’s book of the same name, I can honestly say, without hesitation, “Go see this movie!!”

God bless you all.

Here’s the video link I promised:

Trending Topics and God’s Reminders

Trending Topics

Trending Topics

Does the term “Trending Topics” sound familiar to you? If so, then you must have seen those little briefs in your Facebook notifications.

No matter what, Facebook displays these trending topics. Right there in black and white, these headlines are designed to evoke a reaction and get you to click on them. Most of the topics lean towards one political party. There’s also the occasional rant of a celebrity who threatens to leave our country if a particular candidate gets elected. Often there’s a new political scandal or revelation. Heavy sigh.

Can You Shut Them Off?

Do you want to shut them off like I do? I’ve tried to delete these trending topics. The instructions say to click on an option such as “I don’t care about this.” You’d think the topics would then disappear, right? Wrong. Every time I click to get rid of them, the briefs are still there minutes later, no matter what I click and how many times I go back onto the site. So much negative, right? So, so much.

Wite outWhere’s the Wite-Out? Wouldn’t it be nice to take some correction tape and permanently erase those little briefs you don’t want to see on the side of your screen?

God’s Reminders

How about some briefs that reflect something good for a change?

These are some of God’s reminders I like to think about and want to share with you. Take a look at these truths and remind the other believers in your life what we have to look forward to, no matter who wins the election. There’s an ending to all of this global junk and it’s a Good Ending. There’s no cliffhanger to keep us guessing. The Bible tells us how it ends.

In the meantime, when fear and doubts come, dear ones, please remember:

1. God does not abandon Us

He hasn’t gone anywhere. God will never break His triumphant promise. He never violates His Word. Regenerate believers – He’s right there with you. Talk to Him when the fears come.

God will listenI’ve done that myself. I’ve walked outside during a beautiful sunset and silently prayed to God about my concerns. I know He is listening. I feel a sense of peace I can’t even adequately describe and His peace eventually takes over any fearful thoughts. Try it sometime.

**Even so, the cross we carry is only for a little while at most, and then we shall receive the crown, the glory. Surely we should love the cross and, instead of shrinking from it, count it very dear, for it works out for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison.Alistair Begg, Christian Pastor.

2. God continues to bless us individually according to His Will

Christians have the blessing of eternal life. But, in addition to that beautiful assurance, God will also continue to pour out His blessings on us as individuals. Don’t miss those blessings.

Let’s start with this morning. You’re up and breathing, right? Have you thanked Him yet? God didn’t create you just to go through life, work yourself to the bone, retire someday, and then breathe your last breath. Poof! It’s all over. That’s a defeating premise for someone like you and me who God is holding in His grip.

God's reminders

God created you and me for so much more. We can’t waste our lives on the trivial stuff. If there’s something you can do to bring glory to Him, do it! Acknowledge Him. You may never know in this life whose lives you may have touched by doing so, but some day you will know. Your witness may help plant the seed that leads someone else to eternal life with Christ, and it’s all worth it.

3. There is one way to eternal life, and that is through the saving grace of Jesus Christ

One way. Not ten ways, not a thousand, not even a trillion. (How many zeroes is that?) There is one way, praise the Lord!

Why does the Bible refer to us like sheep? It’s not flattering. Sheep play “follow the leader” and will blindly follow the herd off a cliff.

*6 All we like sheep have gone astray;
    we have turned—every one—to his own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
    the iniquity of us all.

  Isaiah 53:6, ESV

Christ took the fall for all of yours and my sins and gave us His saving grace. Praise the Lord we have a Shepherd to guide us and protect us until He calls us home.

4. God gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is our Advocate. The Holy Spirit convicts us. Take the hint  🙂

Cherish the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life. If you mess up, apologize sincerely to God, and He will forgive you.

5. Everything in life is working out according to His Will

Life may feel like it’s going to hell in a hand basket, but God’s Will is done every day, behind the scenes. His will is at work and we can’t fully understand it.

I’ve asked that question myself, “How can this be right for our country? How can that even be happening?”

Remember that sheep analogy earlier?

As sad and as tragic as events in this world will get (a fact of life), all circumstances are following God’s timeline.

God is all-knowing. Nothing surprises Him. And the good news is that His Light will always win out over darkness. The trials and sufferings we have experienced (and will experience) during our lifetimes are gone in a flash when Jesus returns for His Church. Remember, God’s timing is very different from our concept of time.

To God, a year or more is nothing

As an example, a year can seem like forever to us. To God, a year or more is nothing.

Everything that happens to us as believers is leading to a spectacular and very real event in our future.

6. Everyone who should be saved will be

It’s comforting for me to know that no true Christian will be left behind. That’s why we must take it to heart to share our stories of how our lives changed once we started following Him.

God doesn’t want anyone to perish. We must humble ourselves as a child, and seek His forgiveness. In the final chapter of our lives on this planet, earthly power, riches, success, and status mean nothing. The only thing with eternal meaning is our relationship with Him.

As I was leaving a morning Bible study recently, I had this song playing on my iPod. I always liked the melody, but intently listened to the lyrics this time and thought how foretelling they are. It’s a song by MercyMe called, “Finally Home.”

If you get a chance, please listen to the lyrics. Think about meeting God face to face. Imagine reflecting on your life with the One who gave you life. He loves you that much!

God bless!

MercyMe Concert

MercyMe Concert and Powerful Song Lyrics

Have you ever been to a MercyMe concert?

If not, you should check them out next time they tour in your area.

MercyMe ConcertI’ve always been a fan, but having recently listened to their “Welcome to the New” album, they’ve risen to the top of my list of favorite Christian bands.

Most recently, my husband and I had the thrill of hearing them in a live concert on the beach in the Bahamas.

There are so many great songs on their album that I find myself listening to their music at least once a day now. Sometimes, their lyrics even pop up in my head at night when I’m trying to sleep.

I hope MercyMe will be around forever. Their engaging music and powerful lyrics will touch your heart.

Here’s their website if you’d like more information on MercyMe concerts and tour news.

MercyMe News

Here’s one of my favorite songs called “Greater.” If you listen (and read closely) in the video below, you’ll see there’s a lot of wisdom and meaning there.

No Condemnation for the Redeemed

Do you feel beat up sometimes?

Who hasn’t, right?

Whether the verbal arrows come from friends, an angry boss, acquaintances, or even family members, they can hurt. Unfortunately, troubles are a part of life in our fallen world and we’re taught in the Bible to expect trials of many kinds.

The angry words, betrayals, and/or lies about us are so unfair. Sometimes, the confrontations can turn physical.

What is our hope in those situations?

Better question, Who is our hope?

What we need to remember is that these hurtful people are on their own spiritual journey (whether they’d like to admit it or not.) They may call you a mistake (as the song “Greater” says) or treat you as if you have no value at all.

He Calls Us His Own

Greater is the one inside of meOur hope is in the One who lives inside of us, and He has called us His own.

The troubles we experience in this life are only temporary, even though it might seem like they’re going on forever.

Praise God that our ultimate peace comes, not from people, but from the fact that we are the Redeemed.

You are not a mistake, no matter what people may say.

Those who taunt and mock us are worthy of our prayers at night. God saw them worthy to be born and they are a part of life. Hopefully, with prayers for our enemies, some day their lives may turn around, just as yours did when you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

Remember, Paul was once Saul of Tarsus. “Saul” was well known for his hatred of Christians. But God had other plans for him.

It’s not always easy, but when I hear some of today’s politicians rant against Christianity and the sanctity of life, I try to remember Paul. There is Hope for America and that we can have a spiritual revival in this country. It has happened before and it is greatly needed now.

Those who hate and mock anything having to do with the one true God still have an opportunity to turn their lives to Christ.

No greater loveI will always hold out hope for those who have thrown their anger my way, praying for them every night that they will come to know the Lord.

From John 6:37, NASB,

All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out.

Blessings and have a great week!

And a big thank you to MercyMe for your great music. Keep it coming!
