Memorial Day 2024

A Tribute To Our Heroes: Memorial Day 2024

Memorial Day 2024

Today, Memorial Day 2024, is a special day to honor our heroes, the brave men and women who died while serving in the military.

They deserve our respect for their unwavering courage and dedication to defending our nation.

No doubt, family and friends are gathering together to celebrate this national holiday.

Families at the park and backyard barbecues all over the country are happening.

At the same time, it’s important for everyone to take a moment to reflect and be thankful on the true meaning of Memorial Day, and to pass this on to the next generation.

Freedom comes at a price.

Remembering Memorial Day

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention also the families of fallen soldiers left behind.

I can’t imagine the pain of their loss and I pray they can receive the care they need during their times of grieving.

We can honor our brave heroes by living our lives in a way that upholds the values and ideals that they fought to protect.

May we never forget their sacrifice.

On this Memorial Day 2024, may the memories of these heroes live on in each one of us with a spirit of patriotism and an abundance of gratitude.

Memorial Day 2023

Monday, Memorial Day 2023

Memorial Day 2023

On this Monday, Memorial Day 2023, we honor those brave men and women in the military who died serving their country.

If you’re unable to attend a ceremony in your hometown, did you know there’s something else you can do right in your own home to honor these heroes?

At 3 p.m., you can observe one minute of silence to recognize those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the many freedoms we’ve had for so long.

This is the official time designated for the “National Moment of Remembrance.”

Some other ideas: If you’re in your car driving, you can turn on your headlights at that time or you can listen to the playing of “Taps.”

I am so thankful for an organization like Taps Across America which organizes participants across the country to sound the call.

Here’s a look at what took place last year.

What a blessing to be located near enough to hear one of these tributes.

Memorial Day in 2022

Remembering Heroes on Memorial Day in 2022

To those who gave all . . .

On this Memorial Day in 2022, we offer our gratitude to the heroic men and women in the military who gave their lives while serving in our Armed Forces.

Country music artist, Vince Gill, wrote the following song, “Go Rest High On That Mountain” right after his brother died.

But, this touching video tribute to our military heroes set to the same song seems appropriate to share here.

May the poignant images in this video be a reminder to all of us that freedom isn’t free.

God bless all who served and their families for making the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms.

Words can hardly express our thankfulness to you.

Memorial Day 2021

Memorial Day 2021 – Remembering Our Fallen

Memorial Day 2021

Can you believe Memorial Day 2021 is already here?

Grocery stores are crowded.

Customers are combing the aisles for something to grill and also keeping an eye on the weather report.

But there’s only one real reason for this holiday and it’s not about the cookout.

It’s about taking the time to remember our brave men and women who lost their lives while defending our country.

We must never forget.

Parents – please teach your kids to respect and remember this day as well!

My heart aches and tears fall when I see disrespect towards the brave heroes who sacrificed everything for our freedom.

Please remember the families of the fallen in your prayers on this special day.

This video, among countless others on the internet, speaks volumes. There’s not much more to say.

“Thank You” doesn’t seem enough.

Memorial Day Weekend

Happy Memorial Day Weekend Everyone!

Memorial Day weekend

God Bless All Who Serve

May God bless all of you who served and paid the ultimate price. Your selfless sacrifices have kept this country safe and for that, I thank you!

I grew up in a military family.

Memories of living on the Navy base as a child and going to the PX with my Mom for groceries. I remember going to air shows to watch the Blue Angels with my Dad and holding his hand tightly as the precision flight team soared over our heads in tight formation.

I have unforgettable fond memories of this and of my wonderful father, a Navy captain, who I was so proud of and never told him enough.

Many families will spend Memorial Day this weekend by simply enjoying the day off from work and having the excuse to barbecue.

Please don’t forget what this Memorial holiday is really all about. It’s about remembering those brave men and women who died while serving our country. I have the utmost respect for them and I hope you do too.

Happy Memorial Day weekend!
