Some of My Favorite Heaven Quotes

Have you ever thought about what Heaven will be like?

God’s Word gives us glimpses.

Our heavenly home will be MORE.

Our heavenly home will be MORE

More radiant than we could ever imagine, and more joyful (all the time) than the best moment we’ve ever had in our whole lives here on earth.

But, more importantly, it will be MORE because we will be in the presence of our Lord and Savior.

Do you remember those promising words, the wonder and majesty in Heaven written about in the Book of Revelation?

John gives a firsthand account of seeing the new Jerusalem, words like:

Her brilliance was like a very valuable stone, like a stone of crystal-clear jasper. – Revelation 21:11, (NASB).

And the city has no need of a sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illuminated it, and its lamp is the Lamb. – Revelation 21:23, (NASB).

God tells us in His Word what He wants us to know about Heaven.

We have His mission here on earth to do before we even reach eternity.

However, out of sheer anticipation of our future home, I curated just a few of my favorite heaven quotes from theologians to stir your imaginations.

With discernment always and to be clear, these are not people who claim they visited Heaven (thank goodness), but Christian authors who anticipated Heaven as well.

I agree with D.L. Moody. I see no compelling reason to not think about Heaven. There is insight to be had from these Christian authors.

The Reason for our Anticipation

Any happiness found here in this world will not even compare to what we will experience in Heaven, says Martin Luther.favorite Heaven quotes

The following gives a whole new meaning to worshipping together!

Oh, Father, we long for the day when we can be there, the incredible world to come, and see your blazing, flashing majesty and reign on the thrones alongside of you and serve in your presence. We long for that day when we meet and fellowship with the saints of ages past and gather with all the redeemed. We desire so much to spend eternity visiting the New Jerusalem, the capital city of the new heaven and the new earth.John MacArthur, Pastor and Bible teacher from Grace To You.

Delight in God and be with Him forever!

Nothing will compare to the smiles and joy we’ll experience as we worship our King.

How divinely full of glory and pleasure shall that hour be when all the millions of mankind that have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb of God shall meet together and stand around Him, with every tongue and every heart full of joy and praise! How astonishing will be the glory and the joy of that day when all the saints shall join together in one common song of gratitude and love, and of everlasting thankfulness to this Redeemer! With that unknown delight, and inexpressible satisfaction, shall all that are saved from the ruins of sin and hell address the Lamb that was slain, and rejoice in His presence! – Isaac Watts, theologian and hymn writer.

Where is Heaven?

Heaven is not here, it’s There. If we were given all we wanted here, our hearts would settle for this world rather than the next. God is forever luring us up and away from this one, wooing us to Himself and His still invisible Kingdom, where we will certainly find what we so keenly long for. – Elisabeth Elliot, Christian author and wife of missionary Jim Elliot.

This perverted world we now live in will someday fade away – but we won’t be grieving.

Everything will make perfect sense and we’ll be eternally joyful.

Meeting Jesus Face To Face

The Real Beauty of Heaven is Meeting Jesus Face to Face

Have you ever thought about how beautiful Heaven must be?

Pastor and author, the late Adrian Rogers, once said,

The God who sculpted the wings of the butterfly, blended the hues of the rainbow, and painted the meadows with daffodils is the same who made Heaven. – Pastor Adrian Rogers 1

Can you even imagine?

The perfect artistry of God

perfect artistry of God

The vibrant colors of God’s rainbows

meeting Jesus face to face

His excellent design

His excellent designAs breathtaking as the beauty of heaven will be, nothing will compare with the heart-stirring beauty of finally meeting Jesus face to face.

Think about it.

To see Him and to hear Him in person!

This is why, as Bible-believing Christians, we have no reason to fear death.

The jaws of evil, so evident in our corrupt world, will be wired shut forever and we will enter eternity with our living Savior.

Meeting Jesus Face to Face

We will meet Jesus face to face.

That is what is in store for those who trust Him as their Savior.

What will He actually look like?

What will His voice actually sound like?

Dear Christian, we’ll find out some day.

Poet Deborah Ann Belka has won a lot of recognition for her Christ-honoring poems.

This particular one caught my eye.

It highlights the joy we’ll have when we finally see Jesus face to face.

If Today I Met Jesus
by Deborah Ann Belka

If today I were to meet Jesus,
and my life here came to an end
I would be so excited
to finally meet my eternal Friend.

I would run up to Him,
and look into His face
I would be so very thankful
for His endless supply of grace.

I would drop down to my knees,
and worship my everlasting King
I would shout hallelujah
and my praises I would sing.

I would leap and jump with joy,
as soon as my feet hit the floor
I would be forever grateful
He opened to me heaven’s door.

If today I were to meet Jesus,
and I were to see my eternal Friend
I know that I would be in paradise
and my bliss would never end.

                     . . .

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, King James Version
“For the Lord himself shall descend from
heaven with a shout, with the voice of
the archangel, and with the trump of
God: and the dead in Christ shall rise
first:
Then we which are alive and remain
shall be caught up together with them
in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the
air: and so shall we ever be with the
Lord.”

Let The Redeemed Say So

We are closer to eternity than we think.

Keep looking up.

The joys of Heaven are ahead!

Heaven Is Our Eternal Home

Destination: Heaven

Home sweet home

“Are we there yet?”

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who, as a child, asked their parents that question during a long family road trip.

Those road trips seemed to stretch on and on for miles, didn’t they?

Remember how happy we were when we finally got to where we were going?

Heaven is our Eternal Home

How much more wonderful will it be when we, as believers who trust in Jesus Christ as Savior, will live in Heaven with Him forever.

Heaven is our eternal home

The main reason why I write this blog is because I love to encourage people about what’s in store for those of us who love Jesus.

Why should we delight in God?

Because Heaven is our eternal home.

We have so much to look forward to!

Like this:

Most people know that we’ll worship God in Heaven. But they don’t grasp how thrilling that will be. Multitudes of God’s people—of every nation, tribe, people, and language—will gather to sing praise to God for His greatness, wisdom, power, grace, and mighty work of redemption (Revelation 5:13-14). Overwhelmed by His magnificence, we will fall on our faces in unrestrained happiness and say, “Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!” (Revelation 7:9-12).1 – Randy Alcorn, Bible teacher and author.

And this . . .

I love these reassuring words from Bible teacher, Dr. Ed Hindson.

Dr. Ed Hindson

Heaven is Beautiful

Have you read some of the descriptions of Heaven in the Bible?

As beautiful and magnificent as Heaven is, now hold onto this, nothing will surpass  seeing Jesus face-to-face for eternity.

We’ll be in the presence of our Redeemer and King!

We can only imagine for now, right?

My hope is that we can all grasp the magnitude of the blessings in store for us.

Do you know who Fanny Crosby is?

She’s a well-known composer who wrote many wonderful gospel hymns back in the 1800s. A little research, and I found this jewel of a story about her.

The “R” Words

The Most Significant “R” Words

R words

What are the most important words you can think of that begin with an “R”?

If you ask some of the people being interviewed by the mainstream media these days, you’d get answers like:

Resist

Rebel

Rise Up

In this contentious world we live in, it’s obvious that people have taken their eyes off God.

Sometimes the news comes on, and I.just.can’t.watch.

Focus On God

As a Bible-believing Christian, and a sinner in need of God’s grace, these are the most significant  “R” words I know:

Resurrection

Repentance

Redemption

In the ultimate scheme of things, what matters most is Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection on the cross – the affirmation of our faith.

Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sins, and through His death and resurrection, and our repentance, we can have an eternity with Him in Heaven.

Doesn’t it sadden you that there are people out there, even people you know, who think this life is all that there is?

Life Eternal

We can spend our eternity in Heaven with our Savior!

eternal happiness and joy

So how do we respond to what Christ did for us on the Cross?

Do we just go to church Sunday, help the less-fortunate, and then check those items off our good works list?

Or, do we also “repent” of our sins, and tell a lost world the whole truth – that Yes, there’s a Heaven and there’s a Hell.

I’m frustrated that, in some Christian circles, there’s an ongoing movement away from salvation messages, and that we should only speak about Love. They don’t even want you to mention that there’s a Hell.

We are to share the love of Christ with a lost world.

But, please, tell them the “whole” truth.

We are all sinners in need of the Savior

Unrepented sin has consequences.

Unfortunately, some churches shy away from talking about Sin and the need for salvation because it might turn off people and affect church growth.

That to me, shows a lack of trust in God.

Are clever marketing, great singing, and talking about soft topics more important than preaching all of God’s Word and how to obtain salvation through His Son?

What Jesus Christ did for us on the cross is the biggest, most extraordinary, expression of love that there is.

Withhold no part of the precious truth, but speak what you know and declare what you have seen. Do not allow the toil or darkness or possible unbelief of your friends to dissuade you. Let us rise and march to the place of duty, and there declare what great things God has shown to our soul. – *Alistair Begg, Christian pastor, Truth For Life Teaching Ministry, and Author.

Stained Glass

The Beauty of Stained Glass

Do you love the look of stained glass?

It’s so beautiful!

stained glass work

Masterfully-crafted and hand-cut, down to the finest detail.

Dancing reflections as the sun shines through.

Stained Glass Art

I remember seeing stained glass windows in churches when I was growing up.

*Artist rendering.

Each piece of glass, from the darker shades to the light, contributes to the uniqueness of each design.

Kind of like the pieces of our lives.

We are all different – with our own distinct challenges and life story.

And, yet in our humanity, we share in something spectacular.

Each one of us is God’s creation, His masterpiece in the making.

Why say, “in the making?”

None of us are truly “good,” in the authentic sense of the word. The Bible is clear that we’re all sinners.

The Father loves us too much to want us to stay the way we are.

How should we respond?

With humility.

Spend time in the Bible, and ask His forgiveness of our sins.

Although we can never achieve “good” in our lifetimes, as Christians, we have a “best” to look forward to – eternal joy with Him.

God’s Masterpiece

Fellow Christian writer, Elizabeth Hexberg, wrote a beautiful poem I thought you might enjoy.

Think of the pieces of your own life and what awaits those who put their trust in Him.

Shards of broken glass, and more.
Littering
a concrete floor.
Every color.
Every shade.
Every shape of shattered made.

So cold, so dull and dirty
yet,
so much more,
lest we forget.

The Artist has a bigger view.
The brokenness of me and you.
Files the edges,
one by one.
Holds them up to catch the sun.
Piece by piece with Love and Sear.
Ever precious.
Ever dear.

Gentle rebirth of the soul.
A thousand shards to make us whole.
A lifetimes crafting to get right.
Lifted High to catch the Light.
To Shine with every wonder known,
when all the pieces find their Home.
