In The Beginning

In The Beginning

Behold, here is more delightful evidence that God is our Creator.

Meet the Lilac Roller Bird.

In the beginning God created

Look at those gorgeous colors!

It looks like a box of color crayons was dropped on its cute little head.

In the beginning . . . God.

It is I who made the earth, and created mankind upon it.
I stretched out the heavens with My hands,
And I ordained all their lights.1Isaiah 45:12, (NASB).

Don’t let man-made theories rob you of the joy in knowing that you are a child of God.

The manmade theory of evolution devalues.

The truth of Creationism celebrates.

We are unique, we are loved, and Jesus wants every one of us to be with Him in Heaven.

How could anyone refuse His free gift?

It is beyond my comprehension the smug, know-it-all attitudes of some in the academic community who want to battle that God doesn’t exist.

These same doubters, if they continue along this same path, are in for an eternity in hell. The Bible says it, not me.

Once you’re there, that’s it. There’s no last minute reprieve.

In the Beginning . . . Creator God

Jesus Christ is our Savior and our Creator.

He is our All in All.

Cleary, the most basic and effective way to rob Christ of His glory is to not give Him credit for creation. Jesus’ enemy seeks to further insult Him through the pseudo-scientific worldview of selectionism that misleads people into personifying nature in such a way that they don’t give credit for the creation to Christ but to creation itself.  Rand J. Guliuzza, P.E., M.D., ICR.org.

How audacious is it for mere mortals to promote another creation mechanism (the fake god of evolution), and then to teach it to the next generation as *truth* in many educational institutions?

(I guess the same people who would encourage kids to explore other genders, even to the point of surgery.)

These attacks aimed, ultimately, against our Creator are disturbing and very real.

But, wait and see.

The day is coming when true believers still here on earth will be raptured into Heaven, saved in a glorious instant from all of this spreading deception, and taken away to our heavenly home for a life of eternal joy.

Who’s with me?

I pray that you are because life can change in an instant.

Does God Love Me?

Does God Love You And Me?

Did you know that every month, on average, there are no less than *1300 online searches for the phrase:

“Does God love me?”

That’s a lot of searches.

Friends, when you think about it, that is heartbreaking.

Does God love me

God does love you

Why do you think people are searching for “Does God love me?”

There could be any number of reasons.

Perhaps something horrible just happened in the searcher’s life, or maybe he or she is just curious.

Whatever their reasons may be, this statistic is undeniable proof that people are desperately searching for reassurance that God loves them.

We don’t know who these people are, but we can certainly pray for them.

Taking The First Step

Don’t you wish you knew who they were so you could bring them good news?

Their hearts are open to the gospel, or they wouldn’t be searching.

Who are they?

  • Could it be that lady sitting on the park bench?
  • Your child’s soccer coach?
  • The friendly person you chatted with for awhile in the grocery store?

Here’s one thing we can do: We can ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom. We can pray we will know without a doubt when an opportunity arises to share our delight in God.

Immeasurable Love

God is a righteous judge.

Although we deserve everlasting death for our sins, through Jesus Christ, we can have eternal life.

There is no greater expression of God’s love than this undeserved pardon.

**8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. – Romans 5:8, NASB.

Remember the excitement you felt when you understood what it meant to have a personal relationship with Jesus as your Lord and Savior?

I certainly do. My heart filled up with joy, and I could hardly contain my gratitude when I grasped the meaning of Christ’s sacrifice.

Jesus did that for me?

We need to share this precious knowledge of God’s love with those around us.

Sure, we’ll get some push back. It’s a fallen world after all.

As Bible-believing Christians, however, we know the truth.

We are warriors for Christ. That means we pray something serious and trust the Word of God.

It won’t be easy.

Satan will put up every roadblock to try and force us off track.

Our faith will be tested

No matter what, we must stay the course and rest in the assurance of His great love for us.

God bless you this week!

Kids Parties and Palm Readings

Kids Parties and Palm Readings go together like …

Ughhh, you read that right.

parties for kidsNever would I have believed those two activities would be thrown together if I hadn’t heard about it for myself on a recent shopping trip.

I had picked out a few things at the store and then got into the checkout line to pay for my purchases. I was standing behind a lady who was buying a bunch of pink-colored items for her young daughter’s birthday party.

Cute, right?

I thought so.

The mom was excited as she was telling the clerk about her little girl’s upcoming celebration. There would be cupcakes and ice cream.

And then this…

My ears perked up at the mention of a “palm reader.”

Huh?

little girl birthday partyApparently, the mom decided to surprise the party girls with a palm reader, complete with tarot cards. She was almost gushing at her idea to get these little girls engaged in this practice so they could hear all about their “future.”

It made me sad.

I didn’t say anything, but I was thinking: Really, mom? Do the other parents know what you have planned for their daughters? Might as well include a ouija board while you’re at it.

Nothing like exposing young, impressionable children to the dark side early.

It certainly can be spiritually harmful to those impressionable young girls.

Out of all of the adorable birthday themes she could have chosen to celebrate her child’s life with, she chose palm readings and tarot cards.

An Issue For Parents to Consider

Here’s a question every parent should think about: when your child or grandchild is invited to a party, do you know what the theme is or what activities are planned?

You need to ask questions in today’s world. You can no longer assume that the other parents have sense enough to follow your Christian values of what’s acceptable or not.

If I had a young daughter and she was invited to a birthday party, you can bet I’d be finding out what the party’s theme is. If that would make me an “uncool” parent – so be it.

Parents, this is your child and you have the right to make an excuse and decline an invite if a certain type of party is not in your child’s best interests.

Isn’t it enough that this generation’s young eyes are continually being exposed to blood-sucking vampires, gratuitous sex, hookups, and violence on TV? In fact, there’s been an uptick in movies and television shows where the dark side is portrayed in a sympathetic and romantic light. Remember the Twilight Saga? Yuck. Was that a healthy relationship for kids to see? I think not. The hysteria over that series was sad to me.

The hysteria over the “50 Shades” movie was also sad to me. Do people realize that they’re setting a terrible example when they support and brag about seeing junk like that?

Pastor Charles Spurgeon

We are daughters of the King.

Why romanticize a film like that trash? Doesn’t anyone say “No” anymore? You may lose some friends over it, but it’s worth it if you can clean yours and your child’s brain of this anti-God junk.

Parental Guidance is Crucial

Teach your children to put their trust in God, not some fake cards. By the way, I saw an ad offering a lesson for people to learn how to “read” (I use that term lightly) tarot cards and earn $20 an hour at parties.

Parents, your children are looking to you for guidance. You have to take a bold and courageous stand when it involves your family. Be strong in your Biblical convictions. You have a choice of what your children are exposed to as long as they’re living in your household. Forget the social pressure of “anything goes and you have to be their friend.” Does the Bible say that? No. You are their parent!! God gave you that precious life as a gift.

The most loving thing you can do is say “No” on behalf of your child if something they could be exposed to is not appropriate. Don’t be afraid of a secular society, media bias, and political leaders who ultimately want your child to push God away.evil prowlng aroundThis is a spiritual battle. Don’t give a leg up to those who want to lie and infect young minds early. Evil in all of its forms is prowling around every day looking to devour your child, your marriage, and your family.

God Controls the Stormy Weather in our Lives

I get anxious during stormy weather, I confess.

I look out the window several times and pace a little as the sky darkens and the wind gets increasingly still.

If there’s a tornado threat, I immediately turn on the weather reports, monitor my cellphone weather apps, and text friends to see if they’re aware of the warnings.

God controls the stormy weatherWe’ve had some close calls at our house. One in particular, I’ll never forget it. We were getting ready to go to the Bahamas for our wedding anniversary.

The weather was terrible. I wasn’t too keen on flying in it, but this was a special occasion so you make do, right?

We were getting ready to leave for the airport when I noticed that a little red tornado icon on my phone app popped up very close to our neighborhood.

A tornado was developing  🙁

All thoughts of the vacation temporarily went out the window. It was almost surreal as my husband and I quickly started grabbing dogs and flashlights to head into our safe room.

Thank the Lord that we were okay and made it through the storm, as were our neighbors and friends. But, it was very scary.

Storms are not my favorite thing.

It’s like the stormy weather we face in life. One minute we’re peacefully living our lives and the next, we get hit with some bad news or potential danger and all we want to do is run and take cover. Makes sense to me.

God controls the stormsThere’s one thing we need to focus on when scary things like this happen. It doesn’t matter who or what causes the storm in your life, God controls it.

Sometimes we get an immediate answer to our prayers, but most of the time God allows the storm to run its course and we face the circumstances we’d rather avoid.

God, help me through this.

He will always see us through our problems. That doesn’t mean they magically disappear. It means that He hears our prayers, knows our concerns, and can give us the strength that only He can give.

Whether it’s a literal tornado, difficult relationships, health concerns, or something else, God is worthy of our trust.

We must not lose sight of Him as we face our fears.

Good Things For All Christians to Remember

God is on our side. He delights in us.

The Heavenly Father is stronger than any storm, trial, or enemy.

He already knows the outcome of the trial we’re facing and He has our best interests at heart.

Trust and faith – that’s it, plain and simple.

None of us are perfect, but God sees the maturing of the masterpiece within.

Praise to our matchless King of Kings!

Don't lose sight of God

Let The Church Rise

a life lost

Let The Church Rise

If you haven’t heard it yet, it’s a great song and, essentially, a battle cry for all of us.

One of the things I want to do with this blog is to share songs I come across that really touch me. Christian music means a lot to me.

This is a song that we sang in church last Sunday. It’s called “Let The Church Rise.”

Here’s a listen:

I hear that song and I think of the state of our world today.

Increasing darkness and anti-God sentiments coming from some very loud, miserable and lost people.

There’s also lot of distressing news on television every day.  Sometimes, I just turn it off. A constant diet of joy-killing news isn’t healthy.

Who Put the Moon and the Sun In Their Places?

I have to remind myself that, despite it all, God is always in control.

Always, always, always ….

Always 🙂

Amen!

Go and let your light shine

Let the Church rise from the ashes
