The Master Artist’s Gallery

Always Open – The Master Artist’s Gallery

The Master Artist's Gallery is always open

A few days ago, I woke up, opened the shades, and saw this breathtaking sunrise right outside my window.

I couldn’t help it – I immediately went outside to take a picture in my pajamas, no less!

It’s okay, we have nice neighbors. 🙂

The sunrise was too beautiful to pass up and just go on with my day without thanking God for it.

I will never stop delighting in God and the gifts He has given to our world, including this stunning sunrise.

The Master Artist’s gallery is always open and free to the public.

No waiting in line

No restrictions

All ages welcome

Praise God!

The Master Artist’s Gallery

Someday the “Light of the world” will illuminate us and there will be no need for a sun.

Can you imagine what we will see then?

All of this from God’s loving hand.

God gave us the sun, never to worship but, among other things, allow us to “see” His magnificent creation!

God's gallery of creation

Anyone who has visited my blog for any length of time will know that I sometimes share poetry from other writers.

Louis Gander is one of my favorites.  He is so talented that I’m going to share another one of his poems.

Enjoy!

His Painting

Alone, the sun rises
over people unknown.
Although they ignore it,
its sunlight is thrown,
over the river and
through the faint fog,
like lone little flowers
on top a dead log,
growing so freely,
so gentle, so bright –
as God’s great creation
is seen from His light.

Some hovering noises
seem somewhat bizarre,
trespassing nature
from places afar –
while God, the Great Artist
keeps painting His way –
another day passes
just like yesterday.
A bright colored sunset
surrounds a lone loon.
Reflected on water,
His bright crescent moon.

Now stars hold God’s canvas
while brush strokes so grand,
paint wide vivid colors
with love’s perfect hand.
And God – although we

cannot even imagine –
prepares us a place, in
His painting called ‘Heaven’.
So things we see here
will seem dreary and gray,
compared to the next one
that’ll blow us away!

John 14:2
In my Father’s house are many mansions:
if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you.

On a personal note: I was in touch with Louis recently.  He’s had some health issues and would really appreciate your prayers.

His gift of writing is a blessing to the world.

Delighting In God

Delighting In God When It Hurts

Delighting in God when the world appears to be falling apart seems almost impossible.

People who are unsaved might say something like this:

We’re supposed to what?

I can never praise God as long as there is evil in the world.

As the remarks demonstrate, these folks are deeply hurt, and we need to pray for them.  I understand their anguish as they desperately search for answers.

So, how can we delight in anything when people are murdered, like what happened during the mass shootings in Las Vegas recently?

Las Vegas tragedy 2017

Gaining Perspective

As Christians, we know that we are all sinners in the sight of God. We also know in our hearts that evil people do evil things.

The breaking news is devastating. It isn’t easy to wrap our finite minds around evil in its brutal form.

We see it, we hear about it on the news, and our tears are flowing.

Political parties, the media, even late-night talk show hosts want to pass blame – it’s gotta be the guns themselves, they say, or they blame who is in the White House.

I’m not buying into that, and I hope you don’t either.

Ultimately, this is a sin problem.

What does the Bible say?

8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us. – 1 John 1:8-10. NASB.

Our life vest in every storm is the saving grace offered by Jesus Christ. Jesus, as the only Way, is the light at the end of a very dark tunnel. In that, we can rejoice.

In the meantime, we have to contend with sin and its ramifications. Unfortunately, some misguided people don’t even want to talk about it.

Ignoring Sin

Some Christians, sometimes churches, won’t talk about sin anymore because they’re afraid nonbelievers might get offended.

But, what they don’t seem to get is that not talking about sin and forgiveness takes away from the beauty of God’s gift of grace.

Please watch this short video highlighting one of the many problems with the Emergent Church.

Hurricanes and Fires

What about the recent storms?

How can we delight in anything when people from south Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico are still suffering after the devastating hurricanes?

We also can’t forget about those awful fires that quickly spread in the western United States.

Wildfires in the West

Why, God, why?

It’s natural to cry out to God in our distress.

We hurt for these victims.

Some people will look at tragedies and foolishly claim that God doesn’t care.

But, He does care.

We can’t even imagine the entire depth of how much He cares for us.

God has nothing to prove, including His love.

The Bible tells us the ending. As Christians, we can delight in the future return of our Lord and Savior and an end to our suffering. He is our only hope.

Seek Truth in Scripture

There are difficult times up ahead, much like what we’ve already seen the world. Scripture tells us that it will get worse.

Sugar-coating what happens in the end times helps no one.

There’s an urgent need for the preaching of the gospel.

People need the Lord.

Have you heard the Casting Crowns song called, “Just Be Held”?

I wanted to post it here.

Our prayers for peace may seem unanswered, but there is only One who offers true peace. Our peace comes only from Jesus Christ.

The world is not falling apart. It is “falling into place.”

Delighting In God When We Hurt

rose for the fallen

Most Heavenly Father, we love You.

Thank You for Your infinite grace.

We pray for the victims of these horrible tragedies.

We also lift up their friends and families and ask for Your peace

and comfort for them during this sad time.

Thank You, Father, for handling these spiritual battles

that we can’t fight on our own.

We don’t completely understand the reason for every trial,

but we know that You do.

The enemy wants to confuse us

and stir us up to reject Your promise of salvation

through Your Son, Jesus Christ.

Help us, Lord, to continue to trust You

when the world seems like it’s falling apart.

Amen.

The Man and the Birds – A Story

Have You Heard the Story About The Man and The Birds?

the man and the birdsNo worries, I’ll post it here.

Christmas seemed like a great time to share this gem from the late Paul Harvey.

Do you miss his voice as much as I do? No one could weave a story or paint a visual picture like he could – a real American treasure.

Anyway, I heard this story recited at a pre-Christmas dinner a few days ago and fell in love with it. Go cozy up by the fire and give it a listen.

I hope you enjoy it.

Merry Christmas 2016!

Classic story, huh? The kind that pulls at your heartstrings. So much wisdom in this tale. There’s a definite lesson here.

And he sank to his knees in the snow.

The man realized that Jesus came to save us, just as the man in the story wanted to save the lost birds. The people in the world who hate Christmas or anything having to do with Jesus Christ – they’re missing so much, not only in this life but in eternity as well. Their hearts are so hardened towards God. I pray that they will be saved.

Will you pray too? Please do. I know that, before I became a Christian, people were praying for me and I came to know Jesus Christ as my Savior. It touches my heart deeply to feel that kind of love. It’s more special than any other kind. I plan to spend my life delighting in God for the rest of my days.

Merry Christmas

God bless you all

Delight in God

Thank You For Searching For Delight in God

Delight yourself in God

How Do You Delight in God?

I bet we could get some fantastic answers to that question.

How about Delight in God comes from the joy of knowing that we’re saved by His grace alone? We can’t earn our salvation, He gives it to us freely if we become born again through trust in Jesus Christ.

My Delight in God blog also includes an appreciation and gratitude for the many blessings, both seen and unseen, that He gives us every day.

If you take a look at the beautiful creation around us. . . the mountains, the forests, the animals, the oceans. . . all of that is a gift to us from God.

Oceans and creation

The sun rises and sets every day, no matter what turmoil is going on in our world.  It’s as constant as God’s love for us.

I’d say that’s pretty delightful, wouldn’t you?

On October 8, 2014, my husband and I got up early to watch the lunar eclipse – the blood moon – from our back porch. What a wonderful sight that was. It was so mesmerizing, I couldn’t take my eyes off it.

I see that and I think, no matter what negative and stressful stuff is going on right now in our country and in the world, our God made that beautiful moon and the stars and He knows them each by name. He also knows my name. . .and yours.

You and me are precious to Him.  Amen?

Amen!

He loves us too much to let us stay the way we are. Trusting in Jesus will give you an eternal perspective that you never had before. That is a precious gift!

My hope as you explore this website is that you will join me on my journey of delighting in God.

I want to share stories, videos, and whatever inspirational articles I come across with you. I also hope you get a chance to check out my resource pages and my testimony of faith.

Some of my favorite resources include One Place Ministries and American Family Association. I encourage you to check them out.

God bless you!
