Gentri Songs For Inspiration And Joy

Gentri songs

Have you heard any Gentri songs?

If not, you’re in for a real treat.

During the Christmas holidays, I saw a viral video that touched my heart so much that I couldn’t wait to post it on my own Facebook page.

The video was of the song, “The Little Drummer Boy,” and it was filmed in a children’s hospital. You can see and hear it too if you click on the link above.

I watched it again, and again.

The performance of the song was so touching that I couldn’t help wondering, “Who is this vocal group?”

Have you heard of Gentri before?

The band’s name is an acronym for “The Gentlemen’s Trio.”

Pretty clever name, I’d say, and they dress the part.  🙂

As soon as I learned the name of the trio, I started checking out their song list.

One of my favorite songs ever is, “I’ll Fly Away.”

For years, I’ve been a fan of the Alison Krauss/Gillian Welch version as featured in the movie, “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”

I recently listened to Gentri’s version and well, let’s just say, their version is equally appealing.

I hope you enjoy.

Gentri’s stunning 3-part harmonies are amazing and uplifting.

I highly suggest if you’re having a rough day, turning on some Gentri songs.

You too can feel the joy from the group as they share their God-given talents with the world.

Who is Gentri?

Casey Elliot, Brad Robbins, and Bradley Quinn Lever are the talented tenors. They cover secular songs as well, but be sure and check out their “Hymns” album, released in January of last year on the Shadow Mountain Records label.

Besides “I’ll Fly Away,” the album also includes timeless and beloved hymns such as “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art.”

Gentri Gives Back

A talented vocal group is always a delight, but when I find out that they give back, it makes me love them all the more.

The gents of Gentri have a tremendous heart and a charitable spirit, partnering with groups like the Younique Foundation Childhood Sexual Abuse Recovery group which helps heal women survivors of child sexual abuse.

If you’d like more information on how you can join this effort, please check out the Foundation’s website here.

Sadly, sex-trafficking is yet one more horrific repercussion of sin and our fallen world.

With that in mind, I need to give you a heads-up about the following touching video from Gentri.

The beautiful and haunting combination of two cover songs, “Say Something” and “Angel” are combined in a heart-wrenching video that you can see below.

I literally cried as I watched and learned about the efforts of Operation Underground Railroad – an organization whose rescue teams, at much risk to themselves, save children from “the darkest corners of the earth.”

Please pray for the O.U.R. rescuers, and most urgently, for the children in harm’s way.

You can also help raise awareness as Gentri has done.

More information on how you can join the campaign is available on the O.U.R. website located here.

New Year New Plans

New Year’s Resolutions

Welcome 2019, and welcome to all of you who have found this blog!

Do you have any special plans or resolutions?

I’m guessing a “new diet” is in there somewhere.

Trust me, I completely understand.

Christmas cookies

Colorful Christmas cookies and homemade pies are “oh so tempting” around the holidays, and very hard to resist.

So, I didn’t!

Starting The New Year Off Right

Bible reading plans

From a Christian perspective, the new year is just the encouragement you need to you to start a new Bible reading plan.

There are so many good ones out there, like this one.

If you’d like another option for a reading plan, I wanted to share this additional resource with you that you may not have seen yet.

If you click here, it will take you to Bible Gateway. At the top, click on the word “Study.” There you will find a series of reading plans to choose from.

Even further, you can also sign up for their devotionals. I found two great ones that I enjoy reading though every day. They are so encouraging!!

New Year, New Plans

There are countless searches online asking the question, “Why should I read the Bible?”

If you haven’t taken the time to read through Scripture, please consider this.

The year 2019 starts a new chapter in your life,

and a renewed time to delight in God.

Why not start the new year off right by reading daily the inspired Word from Almighty God – the One Who created you out of nothing?

No doubt, this new year will bring its share of challenges, as well as victories.

Are you ready?

“The remedy for discouragement is the Word of God. When you feed your heart and mind with its truth, you regain your perspective and find renewed strength.” – Warren Wiersbe, International Bible teacher and author.

Merry Christmas 2018

Merry Christmas 2018

Merry Christmas 2018 everyone!

All glory to God in the Highest

Jesus Christ is born!

Can you imagine what that blessed day was like?

As Luke tells us, an angel from God appeared to the shepherds in the field and proclaimed to them the Good News of the birth of our Savior.

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” Luke 2:11-14, (ESV).

Heaven was celebrating!

This Christmas, may we never forget the miracle of Jesus’ birth.

God’s blessings to you and yours!

When Love Was Born

Celebrating The Birth Of Jesus

When love was born

“When Love Was Born”

Don’t you love that description of the birth of our Savior?

When Love Was Born …

It’s also the name of a beautiful song written by Mark Schultz.

If you love Christmas music, please take a moment to listen to Mark’s song performed by One Voice Children’s Choir.

It is spectacular, and just wait til you see “where” they performed it.

I close my eyes during this song, and it gives me goosebumps every time.

God sent us the gift of the Savior, His beloved Son, Jesus Christ.

Hallelujah!

In the busyness of the holiday season, may we never forget the real reason for the season.

God bless you!
