More Than Your Reflection

more than your reflection

You Are More Than Your Reflection In The Mirror

What do you see when you look in the mirror every morning?

Bed hair?

Last night’s eye makeup still under your eyes?

Eeeeeck! I’m going back to bed.

Even when we feel like we look our worst, or we don’t feel like seeing or talking to anyone, God knows our potential and He doesn’t want us to waste it.

Every one of us was created for a unique purpose.

That is to say, we are His masterpieces in the making.

I don’t know about you, but I think that’s a wonderful truth to hold on to.

No matter how you interpret your own mirror’s reflection, your faith in salvation through Jesus Christ is precious, and that means it’s worth sharing.

To be created in the image of God means that we were created to be mirrors of God’s glory—one-of-a-kind mirrors that reflect the diverse aspects of His nature. A mirror serves no other purpose than to reflect something else. A mirror is useless when covered in mud; likewise, when we are covered in sin and turned away from God, we are not living out the purpose for which we were created. But when we respond to God’s offer of salvation and allow His Holy Spirit to clean us up, we turn toward our Creator, and His glory is reflected in our lives. It is not our light or beauty the world needs to see, but His. (John 8:129:5).GotQuestions website.1

We are His, not because we earned it, but by His grace.

As Peter reminded early believers, we are here for Him, for His pleasure and to serve Him.

9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-10, (NASB).2

So it doesn’t matter what you look like or what your insecurities are – God created you. Even with your imperfections, He can use you for His glory.

While the world looks at your outward appearance, God sees your heart.

You are loved

A March To Remember

A March To Remember

Well, this certainly is a March to remember.

It’s in times of crisis like this when we see the best in people and sometimes, sadly, the worst.

The distractions, dire news reports, and frightening predictions are exactly what the devil wants.

Don’t let this coronavirus take your mind off of things above.

Nothing, and I mean nothing that happens on earth or anywhere in the entire universe, is a surprise to God.

a march to remember

God Has Not Forgotten Us!

God blesses us in so many ways. Look back over your life and remember those times of unbridled joy that you’ve had.

Be thankful.

We know that as Christians we will face trials of many kinds, but we aren’t alone.

Don't Panic, Pray

We’re all in this together, no matter how long it takes.

You are loved.

God has not forgotten us!

A Blessing For You Today

A few days ago, I read this daily blessing by Christian author, Susie Larson. I contacted her and she graciously allowed me to share it with you.

It’s called, “Don’t Panic, Pray.”

Please don’t lose heart.

Daily Blessing

May you be highly discerning in the days ahead! May you know when to shore up your faith and stand firm, and, when to hide under the shadow of God’s wing. It’s the world’s way to react in fear and self-preservation.
God calls us to something much higher, more powerful, and divinely insightful. While people are running scared, you walk in faith. People will notice and take their cues from you. While the fearful think only of themselves, you think of others and show the world real love and clarity. While the news media adds to the chaos, you add to the calm. Be a reflection of God’s peace and faithful presence on the earth. The world needs your influence, especially in such a day. Perhaps you were born for such a time as this.
Esther 4:14 ~ For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” Christian author, Susie Larson.1

Our Sovereign Lord

We love you, Lord

and bow to Your Sovereignty

over all things, even when we don’t understand.

If you think this post may encourage someone else, please feel free to share.

God bless.

We Are Loved

We Are Loved

Jackson Hole, Wyoming is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever had the opportunity to visit.

The view across the open prairie looking up towards the Teton Mountain Range is breathtaking.

we are loved

This unforgettable landscape is just one of countless stunning examples of God’s glory on display.

His creation is truly a miracle.

I stand amazed . . . and thankful.

The whole universe reflects His majesty

How extraordinary is it that Creator God, who made Heaven and Earth, thought the world needed you and me before we were even born?

It’s a powerful truth, the depths of which are beyond our human comprehension.

What’s even more amazing is that God cares for us.

He knows when we’re filled with joy, and He knows when we’re hurting.

God isn’t influenced or moved by anyone’s fame or status.

He knows exactly who we are and we are loved.

Lessons From Creation

God cares about every aspect of your life.

We were made in His image.

Remember the powerful words of Jesus during His Sermon on the Mount.

We are much more valuable than the birds of the air. One more magnificent reason we should delight in God.

Fellow Christian writer Louis Gander wrote a lovely poem about God’s grace that I wanted to share with you. The last line, for me, “God holds” is very comforting.

An Amazing Miracle

by Louis Gander
04/01/09

Creation.
An amazing miracle.

A miraculous life as faith in God grows.
The greatest forest withstands the storms –
but when an acorn falls, God knows.

Creation.
An amazing miracle.

A miraculous life of piloted prayers.
A flock of birds protect each other –
but when the sparrow dies, God cares.

Creation.
An amazing miracle.

A miraculous seed crushed under strife.
The tomb was dark, the stone was sealed –
but God delivers eternal life.

Creation.
An amazing miracle.

A miraculous life as grace unfolds.
A family weeps, kisses, and loves –
but when their father sleeps, God holds.
