A Prayer For You Today

Need Encouragement? A Prayer For You Today

Has anyone ever told you that they’re praying for you?

For me, it’s one of the sweetest most comforting things to hear – that your name is prayerfully being lifted up to Jesus by someone who cares about you.

Throughout the years, I can think of many times when friends and family offer up prayers for my husband and me.

Sometimes it is during a Bible Study where we’re all encouraged to share our prayer requests and praises.

Other times, it is one-on-one.

If a face-to-face isn’t possible, knowing that a close prayer warrior is just a phone call (or text) away is priceless.

Thank you God for your praying people!

In Christ we have an anchor that holds fast in all the storms of life, but, if we never sail into those storms, how would we know that? It is in times of despair and sorrow that we reach out to Him, and, if we are His children, we always find Him there waiting to comfort and uphold us through it all. In this way, God proves His faithfulness to us and ensures that we will stay close to Him. An added benefit is that as we experience God’s comfort through trials, we are then able to comfort others in the same way (2 Corinthians 1:4).gotquestions.org.1

A prayer for you today

As a praying people, we recognize that there is One who is greater than our circumstances.

A Prayer For You Today

No doubt, this is a challenging fallen world that we live in.

With that in mind and before you dive into your busy day, wouldn’t it be great to have a prayer warrior offer a prayer for you today?

You may not know them personally, but a powerful prayer sounds like a good way to start.

There are tons of praying people on YouTube and you can take your pick.

But, please allow me to recommend one worshipper in particular whose daily prayer I listen to, Anesthesiologist Dr. Robert Singleton II.

You can subscribe to his channels on social media.

Here’s a sample:

May his heartfelt prayers, words of encouragement, and reverence for God bless you today.

Leave The Heavy Lifting To God

Leave The Heavy Lifting to Someone Else

Have you ever tried to carry something so big you thought you’d collapse under the weight of it?

leave the heavy lifting to God

I used to take swimming lessons back when I was in middle school.

Our final swim test was to “save the lifeguard” in a mock drowning incident.

When it was my turn, the lifeguard began thrashing around in the deep end like he was in big trouble.

Confidently, I dove in to rescue him.

Uh oh.

Saving him was a lot harder than I thought it would be.

It wasn’t long before I was swallowing water and losing any of the strength I had to pull him out.

He was so heavy I thought I was going to drown, and that he’d end up having to save me.

I think he did, actually.  😉

When you get down to it, sometimes in life, we have burdens that are just too heavy for us to carry alone.

But we aren’t alone.

Best leave the heavy lifting to someone else.

When the storms of life hit, we should leave the heavy lifting to God.

No burden is too big for Him.

Leave the Heavy Lifting to God

Have you ever heard someone say that they felt like a black cloud had settled over their house?

I have, because I was the one who said it once.  🙂

When you receive a lot of bad news all at the same time, sometimes it gets hard to bear those burdens.

We have to remember we can’t solve everything on our own.

We aren’t in control, but God is.

A time-honored lesson to keep reminding ourselves:

Be thankful

No matter what our circumstances, remember how God has blessed us in the past and His promises for our future.

Jesus really is the answer.

Billy Graham quote

Aren’t you glad that we have a personal Savior who knows each of us by name?

When a close friend of yours is hurting, you don’t abandon them when they need you the most. On the contrary, you offer to be there for them, run errands, take the kids, whatever they need to show them your support during a difficult time.

Father God loves us even more.

We are His children.

In Isaiah 46:4, the prophet assured God’s people that throughout their lives, which were often wrought with danger, they were not alone.

His Word is true.

Isaiah 46:4

With Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, He can do the heavy lifting for us, from now until our last breath.

Lay your burdens at the Cross.

Have you heard Christian singer Jamie Kimmett’s song about this?

His song, “Burdens” is a touching reminder of God’s tender care.
