The Christmas Spirit

A Great Video To Get You Into The Christmas Spirit

Asking for a friend šŸ˜‰

Is it okay to have a crush on the gents of the musical group, ā€œGentriā€?

Gentri "Do You Hear What I Hear?"

Iā€™m telling you – these extremely talented guys get me right in the heartstrings with their music every single time, especially during the Christmas season.

First off, their voices are gorgeous, blending together in perfect harmony.

But, thereā€™s more to it.

In my opinion, what launches them above many other artists who release Christmas songs, are the captivating videos The Gentlemenā€™s Trio release on YouTube.

The storylines behind their music can make you cry happy tears, or at least bring a smile.

This year, the group is back again with another winner to get you into the Christmas spirit.

Gentri just recently released an endearing version of the beloved Christmas song, ā€œDo You Hear What I Hear?ā€ which premiered on Thanksgiving Day.

As of this writing, the video has already gotten over 2.7K views. Their take of the classic song provides a delightful look at the meaning of Christmas through the eyes of children.

Where did they find these adorable kids?

Watch this and youā€™ll see what I mean . . .

Didnā€™t you love it when the children were describing the gifts the wise men could have brought Baby Jesus?

“Baby things, like Onesies!”

So precious.

What I See This Year

Do you see what I see?

This year, I see a Christmas full of “change” that nobody wants, and one that looks different from any other Christmas Iā€™ve ever experienced in my life.

But will you hear what I hear?

In churches, we should hear a time-honored message of redemption that never changes ā€“ no matter what.

The Christmas Spirit

The Christmas Spirit Will Live Forever

As church goers across the country celebrate Christmas in person, and in some cases, watch the service live stream – the story of Christā€™s birth will continue to be told.

Our Savior was born in a manger, and He came to save mankind.

It’s a gift – so the choice is up to us whether to accept eternal happiness, or be sentenced to a godless existence without Him.

The Almighty appeared on earth as a helpless human baby, needing to be fed and changed and taught to talk like any other child. The more you think about it, the more staggering it gets. Nothing in fiction is so fantastic as this truth of the Incarnation.1

The Music Of Christmas

the music of Christmas

Delighting in the Music of Christmas

Oh, the music of Christmas.

What a special time of year this is!

I canā€™t help it – I find myself humming a little Christmas song, no matter where I am ā€“ at the grocery store, the gym, lots of places.

And, sometimes, itā€™s loud enough for people to hear.Ā  šŸ™‚

I love the music of Christmas!

Donā€™t you?

Gentri Does it Again

The Gentlemen’s Trio, also known as “Gentri,” has won me over again with their Christmas music.

I fell in love with them, actually last Christmas, when I heard their rendition of The Little Drummer Boy.

They’re back!

With their delightful and recently released Christmas song, “Mary’s Boy Child,” and the wonderfully talented and awfully cute members of the Rise Up Children’s Choir – Gentri has succeeded in bringing me once again to tears of joy.

Have you heard their latest Christmas collaboration?

This is an upbeat, hope-filled, song.

Get ready to tap your feet.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.Ā  šŸ™‚

The Coming Glory

So much hope in one little baby – Who is Christ the Lord.

The answer of the need of the human heart is found in that little Childā€”God in the flesh [John 1:1, 14]ā€”suffering our suffering, weeping our tears, living our life, dying our death [1 Corinthians 15:3], the great Lord God of heaven who understands and sympathizes with us [Hebrews 4:14-16], and who someday, in His coming, will lift us to glory and to heaven [1 Thessalonians 4:16-17].Dr. W.A. Criswell, beloved expository preacher.2

Gentri Songs For Inspiration And Joy

Gentri songs

Have you heard any Gentri songs?

If not, youā€™re in for a real treat.

During the Christmas holidays, I saw a viral video that touched my heart so much that I couldn’t wait to post it on my own Facebook page.

The video was of the song, ā€œThe Little Drummer Boy,ā€ and it was filmed in a childrenā€™s hospital. You can see and hear it too if you click on the link above.

I watched it again, and again.

The performance of the song was so touching that I couldnā€™t help wondering, ā€œWho is this vocal group?ā€

Have you heard of Gentri before?

The band’s name is an acronym for ā€œThe Gentlemenā€™s Trio.ā€

Pretty clever name, I’d say, and they dress the part.Ā  šŸ™‚

Gentri Youtube Inspirational Songs

As soon as I learned the name of the trio, I started checking out their song list.

One of my favorite songs ever is, ā€œIā€™ll Fly Away.ā€

For years, Iā€™ve been a fan of the Alison Krauss/Gillian Welch version as featured in the movie, ā€œO Brother, Where Art Thou?ā€

I recently listened to Gentriā€™s version and well, let’s just say, their version is equally appealing.

I hope you enjoy.

Gentri’s stunning 3-part harmonies are amazing and uplifting.

I highly suggest if you’re having a rough day, turning on some Gentri songs.

You too can feel the joy from the group as they share their God-given talents with the world.

Who is Gentri?

Casey Elliot, Brad Robbins, and Bradley Quinn Lever are the talented tenors. They cover secular songs as well, but be sure and check out their “Hymns” album, released in January of last year on the Shadow Mountain Records label.

Besides “I’ll Fly Away,” the album also includes timeless and beloved hymns such as “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art.”

Gentri Gives Back

A talented vocal group is always a delight, but when I find out that they give back, it makes me love them all the more.

The gents of Gentri have a tremendous heart and a charitable spirit, partnering with groups like the Younique Foundation Childhood Sexual Abuse Recovery group which helps heal women survivors of child sexual abuse.

If you’d like more information on how you can join this effort, please check out the Foundation’s website here.

Sadly, sex-trafficking is yet one more horrific repercussion of sin and our fallen world.

With that in mind, I need to give you a heads-up about the following touching video from Gentri.

The beautiful and haunting combination of two cover songs, “Say Something” and “Angel” are combined in a heart-wrenching video that you can see below.

I literally cried as I watched and learned about the efforts of Operation Underground Railroad – an organization whose rescue teams, at much risk to themselves, save children from “the darkest corners of the earth.”

Please pray for the O.U.R. rescuers, and most urgently, for the children in harm’s way.

You can also help raise awareness as Gentri has done.

More information on how you can join the campaign is available on the O.U.R. website located here.
