Need a Good Laugh Today

Do You Need a Good Laugh Today?

Need a good laugh today?

You’ve probably heard the phrase, “Laughter is the best medicine.”

While laughter may not be a “cure” for anything, it sure can lift your spirits.

Laughter is an expression of joy.

By the way, both of these are mentioned in the Bible.

For instance, this wisdom from Proverbs reminds us:

A joyful heart is good medicine,
But a broken spirit dries up the bones. – Proverbs 17:22, (NASB).1

Do you have something stressful coming up?

Laughter can be a great stress reliever.

Of course, stress can be both positive or negative depending on the situation, but it’s chronic stress that wreaks havoc on your body.

In fact, according to the Cleveland Clinic, stress can lead to many long-term health issues which can mess with your immune, digestive, and cardiovascular systems – just to name a few reactions.2

So, I ask you, “Do you need a good laugh today?

Watch this adorable father-son duet for some chuckles.

I hope it brightens your day.

Here’s some encouraging words:

Current research shows that the physical act of laughing, even without humor, is linked to “chemical changes in the body that potentially reduce stress and increase pain tolerance.”3 (emphasis mine). – National Library of Medicine.

Need A Good Laugh Today? Hoping for a Kiss

Here’s one more for now.

Allow me to introduce the red-lipped batfish.

She’s looking for love.

The music is a nice touch, don’t you think?

Don’t tell me that our God – who created the heavens and the earth – does not have a sense of humor.

In fact, God created laughter!

The very fact that we humans have a sense of humor indicates that God does, too, for we are made in His image. (The existence of penguins, platypuses, and puppies also builds a strong case for God’s having a sense of humor!) Jesus, as the Son of God, shares the Father’s attributes, including a sense of humor.gotquestions.org.4

Do You Need to Laugh More?

What tickles your funny bone?

A nostalgic TV rerun?

A night out with friends?

Sharing that laugh-out-loud meme?

No doubt, stressful times are a fact of life.

Here’s hoping that you can find some moments of laughter during your day.

Do You Need To Laugh?

Do You Need A Break From It Too?

I don’t know about you, but I need to laugh.

There’s a lot of joy kill going on.

And, if you’re not careful, it can ruin your day pretty darn quick.

Can’t we even watch football anymore just because we enjoy the game?

Maybe it’s time to take a break from Facebook for awhile.break from facebook

Anyone else needs a break from all the madness?

Here’s what Solomon, the son of David, said about a joyful heart in the Book of Proverbs.

*A joyful heart is good medicine,
But a broken spirit dries up the bones. Proverbs 17:22, NASB.

God Created Laughter

Understandably, it’s hard to feel joy when stress levels are running high. A continuing crushed spirit can wreak havoc on your body.

There’s so much more to be grateful for than there is to bring us down.

Sometimes We Need To Laugh

In the spirit of trying to lighten things up a bit, I thought a few cute videos might take your minds off the News for awhile.

I’ve mentioned Christian comedian Tim Hawkins before in another blog post. If you haven’t heard of him before, he is downright hilarious.

I love his take on married life.

Did you ever see the movie, “A Few Good Men,” with Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson? It’s an oldie (1992), but a classic for some of its memorable movie lines.

Remember this one: “You can’t handle the truth!”

If a couple of funny Tim Hawkins videos didn’t give you at least a chuckle, aren’t you glad God didn’t make you an Alpaca?

And I thought I had bad hair in the morning.

Do you need to laugh

Thank You, God, for laughter and the joy that it brings.
