He Parted The Sea

It really upsets me when I hear people make irreverent comments and spew curse words using the name of God and Jesus.

We are His “new creation.”

The growing lack of respect for God in today’s reality show culture should bother us.

Look I get it – we can’t expect unbelievers to act like believers.

That’s why it’s so important to remember the lost in our prayers.

Either they don’t know (or don’t care) that they are mocking the glorious Creator of Heaven and Earth.

Some day in the future, if unrepentant, they will know the gravity of what they have done.

He parted the seaHe Parted The Sea

Jesus, our Righteous Redeemer and King, is worthy of all our reverence and praise.

His holy name is sacred.

The following verse from Philippians is just one of many verses in Scripture that validate this gospel truth.

9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. – Philippians 2:9-11, NASB.1

When I heard Hannah Kerr’s latest song, “Split The Sea,” it immediately struck a chord with me. The lyrics are a beautiful reminder of God’s awesome power.

He is, and always will be God of miracles, the one true God who parted the sea.

This Is The Day

this is the day

Did you see a beautiful sunrise when you woke up this morning?

Over here in our neck of the woods, I was in awe as the pale yellow-pinkish glow of the coming sun quietly rose over the bank of trees and chased off the darkness of the night.

It didn’t take long. Within minutes, the sun in all its glory burst onto the scene.

Wake up, world!

It’s another new day.

The day the Lord hath made

This is the day which the Lord has made;
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.Psalm 118:24, NASB.1

It makes my heart sing!

A Talented Young Singer

Encouragement For Your Day From A Talented Young Singer

If you’ve read any of my blog posts from the past, then you know that on occasion I love to feature Christian music.

Music is a big part of my life, especially Christian music.

Psalm 30 comes to mind.

11You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
You have loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness,
12 That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.Psalm 30:11-12, NASB.

Recently, as I was searching for new songs and talent, I came across a young boy who has the voice of an angel.

Perhaps you’ve seen him on YouTube where over 36 million viewers have tuned into his channel.

His name is Steven Samuel Devassy.

I don’t know about you, but I see and hear joy when he sings God’s praises.

So Many Reasons

We have so many reasons to praise the Lord.

The lyrics to Matt Redman’s “10,000 Reasons” comes to mind.

Here’s Steven Samuel Devassy singing this beautiful cover song.

Keep an eye on this talented young singer, now an 11-year-old, who also plays the drums. I do believe he has a future in Christian music!

Happy Easter 2019

Three Days Later

What a difference three days makes.

When Jesus was put to death on the cross, His Glorious Resurrection became the single, most pivotal, truth-affirming foundation of our Christian faith.

31For He was teaching His disciples and telling them, “The Son of Man is to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill Him; and when He has been killed, He will rise three days later.” – Mark 9:31, NASB.

Happy Easter 2019

We can rest in the truth that over 500 witnesses saw Jesus after His Resurrection.

Over 500 people.

Oh, to be one of the 500 on that day.

He is risen!

He is risen, indeed!

May you and your families have a blessed celebration.

Happy Easter 2019

God Created The Stars

Star Light, Star Bright – God Created The Stars

God Created The Stars

Have you ever walked outside at night and noticed the beautiful moon and the stars?

No human artist can paint the day and night skies like God can.

What a gift He has given us!

It’s like we’re getting a little glimpse of Heaven.

How many can you count?

I dare not even try, they are so numerous.

Every star is unique, just like the flakes of snow that blanket the landscape during winter, and the grains of sand beneath our feet when we walk on the beach.

Unique, just like you and me.

We are created by God for His master plan, some day to be revealed to the whole world in all of its glory.

41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory. – 1 Cor 15:41, NASB.

We Are Never Truly Alone

God loves you and me, and praise God, we’re never truly alone.

He is the Master Author of our lives, our Creator God.

Elizabeth Hexberg, a fellow Christian writer, captures this truth well in one of her poems.

I’m happy to share it here with you.

A Thousand Stars
by Elizabeth Hexberg
06/08/13

A thousand stars are shining.
All clouds have silver lining.
I know my God is with me,
in everything I do.

I know He is the reason,
for every single season.
I know His Will is perfect,
and all my heart is His.

I know I sometimes leave Him.
Tested to believe Him,
Dear Lord I’m only human
and give my best to You.

So in my imperfection,
I pray God for direction.
Forgive me all misgivings,
it is Your heart I’m living.

and Jesus tells me, keep the Faith.
Be still and let things go.
I wrote the story of your life
and always Love you so.

There may be mountains yet to climb.
There may be times of drought,
but I am with you through it all,
and I will lead you out.

Trust in me with all your heart.
listen with your soul.
Did I not string the heavens
and die to make you whole.

The broken can be mended.
The blind will one day see.
All you ever need to do,
is give it all to me.

A thousand stars are shining.
All clouds have silver lining,
I know my God is with me,
In everything I do.
