Is it Possible to Have Enduring Faith in a Crazy World?

Recently I heard someone say, “People have lost their minds.”

Actually, it was me who said it.

Never ever did I think that, in my lifetime, I would see the extent of the “crazy” going on right now.

People hurting people, picking fights, calling evil good – any conscious or personal responsibility on their part seemingly lost. 

They have no hope.

They don’t have Jesus.

It’s hard sometimes to not fear this darkness because the fever pitch of violence is on the rise.

Thanks, no thanks, to the availability of 24/7 news coverage and social media – it’s getting harder and harder to get away from it and feel “at peace.”

Only through God, can we find a “peace that surpasses all understanding.”

The following encouragement found in Deuteronomy 31:6 struck a chord with me.

Here, Moses reassures Joshua (second-in-command) that the Lord is with His people as they enter the Promised Land.

It had already been a difficult 40-year journey wandering in the desert fraught with danger, rebellion, fear, and war.

While these words were spoken many generations ago, they reinforce the character of God.

The Lord keeps His promises to His people. 

However, these promises were not for an easy life.

We will continue to witness and/or experience suffering and stories of evil on the evening news until Jesus returns for His church.

With all that, is it still possible to have enduring faith in a crazy world like this?

Absolutely, yes.

No doubt, tough times are up ahead, but stay strong in your belief in God and salvation through Jesus.

If all the “crazy” gets you down, remember, God is greater than anything going on in this world. 

Seek the Lord’s guidance through prayer and reading His Word.

Your story, my story, – it’s God’s story and it isn’t over.

He is still very much in control.
