A Heart Full Of Thanks

With A Heart Full of Thanks

A heart full of thanks

Dear Christian – do you want to know how much you are loved?

These Bible verses from Ephesians, which exhibit God’s great mercy, can help to serve as a reminder.

4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our wrongdoings, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the ages to come He might show the boundless riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.Ephesians 2:4-7, (NASB).1

There are so many encouragements like these verses found in God’s Word.

What an impact God’s promises will have on us!

Even though we are undeserving sinners, through Jesus, we have His gift of salvation.

We choose to repent because of His transforming work in us.

That is great news to be grateful for.

With a heart full of thanks, we can come to His throne and know that because of His “great love”, we will live with Him in eternity.

Recently, I came across a beautiful version of a Brandon Lake song that I couldn’t wait to share.

The song is called “Gratitude”.

Please enjoy talented harpist and vocalist, Megan Tibbits, in this uplifting and beautiful cover.

You may want to turn your sound up for this one.

God Makes A Way

God Makes A Way

Have you ever heard the expression, “God finds a way”?

The truth is – if it’s in His will, God makes a way.

I remember after our tragic family accident in 1997 (you can read about it here), our lives were completely turned upside down.

life-changing accident

While grieving and still recovering from the tragedy days before, there were also many difficult decisions that we had to make, constant phone calls with friends and family, plus my husband wanted to attend the out-of-state funeral.

When my husband left, we needed someone to stay with me since I couldn’t walk at the time.  Thankfully, in His gracious way, God prompted one of our cousins to volunteer to do just that.

My left leg was in a heavy knee-to-ankle boot for about three months. There was no way I could drive to work like that.

At the time, I was working at a Fort Worth TV station – which wasn’t even close to where my husband’s job was located. After not being able to work for a few weeks, I was starting to worry about being let go from my job.

After much prayer, God’s grace shone His brilliant light on us once again.

A co-worker at the TV station unexpectedly offered to pick me up half-way every morning.

As only God can do, the arrangement worked out perfectly and my co-worker and I forged a bond and then a close friendship that is now just as strong as ever.

We had so many wonderful faith-filled conversations on those drives.

God Makes A Way

I am forever grateful for experiences like that which affirm God’s grace and compassion.

God makes a way right when it seemed like there was no way.

When faced with seemingly impossible situations – we need to remember that, nothing is impossible for God.

Our Sovereign Lord, if it is in His will, is the God of our impossibles.

Brandon Heath God Made A Way

Recently, I was checking out new Christmas music and came across a song that I couldn’t wait to share.

Just in time for the Christmas season, Dove Award winner, Brandon Heath, released a new song duet with the incredibly talented Tasha Layton.

Here is “God Made A Way.”

I hope this song blesses you as much as it does me.

“God Made a Way” debuted on YouTube on November 22nd of this year. As of this writing, it has garnered over 3000 views on the social media platform.

See Me Through It

God Will See Me Through It

If God promised it, you can count on it!

People you know may let you down, but when it comes to our Sovereign God, you can trust Him completely.

Knowing God through His Word is the fuel for our faith.

6For he will never be shaken;
The righteous will be remembered forever.

7 He will not fear bad news;
His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.Psalm 112:6-7, (NASB).

God always keeps His promises, so we have the very best reason to stay encouraged.

And, we have Jesus.

With that in mind, we can rest assured that when troubles come, He hears our cries.

Through constant prayer, we can depend on God to give us comfort, strength and the peace we need to endure whatever comes our way.

Those assurances are the reason I think that Brandon Heath’s new song has really hit a chord with people.

See Me Through It” released a couple of weeks ago, and is already appearing on the Billboard chart.

With a chorus like “You’re gonna see me through it” – it also serves as a great reminder that God can see us through any trial.

Catchy, isn’t it?

I don’t know about you, but I love this song!

I know, I know, I’ve said that before about other songs.

But . . .

You knew a “but” was coming, didn’t you?

This song has a piano intro that I love, singable lyrics, and a “hook” in the chorus that makes it unforgettable.

Over one million people have viewed the video so far.

I’d say it’s going to be a hit – at least at the top of my own Christian music chart!

Brandon Heath in the Bahamas – We Were There!

My first introduction to Brandon Heath was in the Bahamas when we were attending a marriage retreat with friends.

Brandon Heath - See Me Through It

He’s an amazing artist, and his songs are so up-lifting.

What I really like is that they tell a story.

Brandon’s lyrics speak to what’s going on in our culture and how to live the Christian life when the world around us is falling apart.

Remember, whatever is going on in your life, you can turn to Him.

Like the Bible says and the song reminds us, “He will see you through it.”

Memorial Day 2016

Wishing You All A Blessed Memorial Day 2016

dont forget military families

In honor of Memorial Day 2016, I wanted to post a song that I first heard while we were on vacation in the Bahamas.

It’s a lovely song by Brandon Heath called, “Paul Brown Petty.” The lyrics are beautiful and the ending is especially tissue-worthy. It seemed fitting for a time such as Memorial Day 2016.

I want to take this opportunity to say how much I appreciate all military personnel, men and women, who died in service to our country.

They and their families have paid the ultimate price to protect our freedoms here in America.

May we never forget their courage under fire.

May we never forget that these service men and women gave up precious time with their own families so that we, here on the mainland, could spend time with ours in peace.

God bless you all

Memorial Day 2016
