Happy Thanksgiving 2021

Wishing You and Yours a Happy Thanksgiving 2021!

Happy Thanksgiving 2021

From our home to yours, we want to wish you a very blessed and Happy Thanksgiving 2021!

We have countless reasons to give thanks. When you think about it, God has blessed us in so many ways.

But, as much as we are thankful to Him for blessing us, we also need to remember to thank God for who He is.

He is always with us, always in control, and in His coming Kingdom, the great things He has in store for believers will be magnificent and beyond our imaginations.

I look forward to that day, don’t you?

From Psalm 9:1-2, a Psalm of David –

I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart;
I will tell of all Your wonders.
2I will rejoice and be jubilant in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.
 – Psalm 9:1-2, (NASB).1

Thank You God for all that You have done and for all that You will do.

A CeCe Winan’s Song to Remember

It’s On Repeat:  A CeCe Winan’s Song to Remember

A CeCe Winan's song to remember

Guess who the “best-selling female gospel artist of all time” is?

No, it’s not me.

But, thank you.  🙂

The real answer is: multi-award-winning vocalist, CeCe Winans!

And, rightfully so.

Her passion for Jesus when she sings is undeniable.

Recently, I found a song that she performed that really speaks to the heart. I’ve heard the song before and loved it, but I’m really taken with Cece’s version.

In fact, I’ve listened to it over and over.

We could all use some encouragement these days, don’t you think?

This whole world needs a spiritual revival, and now is not the time to give up.

The Lord is our Shepherd!

Check out Cece’s beautiful acoustic version of the Dwan Hill song, “Shepherd.”

I suggest you turn it up and let the beautiful lyrics remind you of Whose you are.

I was hooked after the first verse!

This amazing song “Shepherd” is like a breath of fresh air in a dying world.

We can remember that no matter what shocking events happen in this world, we have a Shepherd who will never fail us.

If this song touches your heart in any way, then to God be the Glory!

By the way, I shared this song with a good friend of mine in California. He hadn’t heard it before but emailed me back pretty quickly and said he’s had it on repeat and even passed it on to others.

That’s when you know the deep feeling of love stirring in your heart through this music is the Lord calling you to trust and follow Him.

7 He will not fear bad news;
His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. – Psalm 112:7, (NASB).

“Shepherd” appears on CeCe’s chart-topping album, “Believe For It”, which came out earlier this year.

Trusting God Alone

Trusting God Alone in a Push Button World

favorite time of year

Brrr, it’s cold outside, and it will get colder!

Better turn up the heat in the house.

Are you feeling those cooler temperatures too?

Bring it on  🙂

Without a doubt, this is my favorite time of year.

Wearing a warm sweater, sitting in front of a cozy fireplace, and stirring a cup of hot chocolate – all bring back fond memories of seasons past and that the holidays are just around the corner.

I just checked the temperature and we’re in the 30s.

As I pushed the button to turn on our fireplace . . .

Wait, what did I just say?

As you know, if you have an electric fireplace, all you do is push the power button and the flame will spark up immediately.

Voila, a roaring fire to keep you warm.

push button world

If you think about it, we’re living in that kind of “push button” world.

With the simple push of a button, you can not only light a fireplace but,

Start a car

Remotely turn on lights in your house

Buy an expensive painting online

Turn on autopilot and fly a plane

And that’s just some of the things that you can do.

You can also push a button to start a 3D printer and “print out” an actual human body part like an ear or a nose.

Wow!

Actually, that’s amazing or creepy, depending on how you look at it.   😉

Trusting God alone in a push button world is key.

We’re to live in the world, but not for it.

Trusting God Alone For Our Eternity

we are not gods

As amazing as the technology is that we have today, we are not gods.

Not even close.

We can’t simply push a button and, at a time that “we” decide, transport ourselves to Heaven at our deathbed.

Beam me up, Jesus!

There will never be a push button that can eternally save us.

Salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone.

trusting God alone

Only Jesus Christ died for our sins. He was buried, and He rose from the dead to bring eternal life for those who “receive and follow Him.”

Anyone promoting the man-made ideology that there are many ways to get to heaven is preaching a false gospel.

Get out of a church like that as soon as possible.

As the dire and prophesied events in our world start to heat up, people living during that time will want a quick fix.

But here’s the thing: No button, no antichrist, no man, no religious leader, has the eternal solution to peace and joy forever.

There’s only one who does: Jesus Christ.

Beware the counterfeits.

1 Corinthians 8:5-6

The Right Time To Praise God

The Right Time to Praise God: Here’s The Answer!

When is the right time to praise God?

Is it on Sunday?

How about Wednesdays?

Final answer?

It’s always the right time to praise God.

For instance, if you’re thinking about Him during your lunch hour, make sure you have your pocket Bible on hand. You never know when someone may see you and ask questions about your faith. This isn’t an evangelism trick, it’s having your own time with God, but being open to opportunities to share your beliefs.

The dictionary describes “reverence” as meaning “honor or respect felt or shown: DEFERENCE especially: profound adoring awed respect. – Merriam-Webster dictionary definition.1

Let’s take the definition even further.

It means to:

Cherish

Esteem

Treasure

and

Love

Him.

For The Lord is Holy

Psalm 97 affirms our Father’s Majesty and the reason for our praise:

For You are Lord Most High over all the earth.

You are exalted afar above all gods.– Psalm 97:9, (NASB).2

He is our Sustainer and Provider.

The one and only God of Creation.

Someday, He will come to judge the earth and, praise the Lord, He will set things right.

The Right Time to Praise God

Lord of Lords, and King of Kings.

Most notably, while we reap the many blessings of His grace and cherish our personal relationship with our Savior, may we never lose sight of His holiness.

There is no one like Him.

To put it another way, no wooden statue is worthy of our praise.

Hebrews 12:28-29

Like the above verse says, let’s show gratitude and awe.

. . . that “awe” is due, in part, to the fact that our God is the same God who revealed Himself and His law to the Israelites at Mount Sinai. He is indeed a devouring fire, and we should be humbled by the fact that it was grace that brought about the sprinkling of our Lord’s blood so that we could draw near to God in worship. – Bob Deffinbaugh, pastor and bible study teacher.5

Our Refuge and Fortress

A long time ago an anonymous Christian poet sat down to write the following words of praise to our Heavenly Father.

God bless him or her for their faithfulness and recognition of His majesty.

I’m excited to share it here.

We Praise You, O God

We praise you, O God, our Redeemer, Creator;
In grateful devotion our tribute we bring.
We lay it before you, we kneel and adore you;
We bless your holy name, glad praises we sing.

We worship you, God of our fathers, we bless you;
Through trial and tempest our guide you have been.
When perils over take us, you will not forsake us,
And with your help, O Lord, our struggles we win.

With voices united our praises we offer
And gladly our songs of thanksgiving we raise.
With you, Lord, beside us, your strong arm will guide us.
To you, our great Redeemer, forever be praise!

Disrespect For Life

Disrespect For Life

Sometimes I think we’re living in bizarro world.

Are you a biological “machine?”

disrespect for life

Are your kids just simple “products,” or are they little boys or girls created by God?

“Products?”

No way.

“Biological machines?”

I didn’t think so.

Are you outraged at this popular thinking? Because you should be.

Created by God

The fact that we are created by God offends many people. We must be compassionate and pray for them, but at the same time, never compromise our convictions.

God created the heavens and the earth

There are schools across the United States that teach evolution as THE explanation of how the world was created.

We might just as well have “evolved” from a rock.

But, Christians know better.

Jesus died for our sins.

His incomprehensible love is beyond our imaginations, it is that deep.

Don’t tell me His death on the Cross was for nothing.

The world doesn’t like our beliefs, but praise God, this world is not our final home.

If you reject God and His Word, then anything goes—there’s no absolute standard on which to base your thinking. In this view, children are just biological machines, the product of millions of years of evolution. They aren’t given to parents—they are just a “choice” parents made. Ken Ham, Answers in Genesis,1

We are not products.

We are not biological machines.

It’s absurd thinking, but sadly people are buying into this.

In the Image of God

We live in a world where the majority of our nation’s leaders have no problem with women terminating pregnancies in the womb for convenience – a so-called “choice.”

With that destructive brand of thinking, how can we expect younger generations who are “lucky” enough that their parents let them be born, be expected to, in turn, “value” anything?

The ungodly have such a disrespect for life. We see the results of this on the news every night.

Is it too late to tear down the ideologies meant to degrade us, reduce us to simple “products”, and separate us?

I believe there is still time to change some minds, but not much time.

We have to face the facts.

The Enemy wants to capture the hearts and minds of your children . . . of all ages.

Taking A Stand

Defending the faith (apologetics) is vital teaching as your children get ready to face a hostile world.

This will mean a dedicated commitment of your time to invest in the Christian education of your loved ones while they’re at home.

It’s what God wants us to do.

Think about your sons and daughters right now.

Do they recognize that God created the heavens and the earth?

Can your children (or teens) defend their faith (respectfully) to an authority figure?

They desperately need your guidance.

Do you talk about Jesus with them?

Once or twice isn’t enough.

If you don’t teach them about Jesus, worldly agendas being forced on every aspect of our society will lead them astray. If you’re not sure how serious this is, research the growing attacks on Christians all over the world.

When the family is strong, the church is strong. And when the church is strong, the nation is strong. But when the family breaks down, the nation breaks down with it. I believe there’s a full-throated, all-out attack on the family in our nation today. It’s time for moms and dads to be the spiritual leaders in the home. And it’s time for grandparents to be spiritual leaders too. – Pastor Greg Laurie, Bible teacher and author.2

Disrespect For Life Culture

How can parents and grandparents protect their kids in this spiritual fight for their minds and hearts?

Besides prayer, it’s important to establish a foundation of faith early on in your home.

Read the Bible to your children.

Let them see YOU reading it.

You can even take something like a child’s favorite hobby and bring even that back to God’s wonderful provision.

child hobbies brought back to God

I like the way Pastor James Kaddis puts it . . .

That father says you know God gave you the talent to put that thing together kiddo. You want another one. Let’s pray to God. Let’s ask God to provide it for us.  And every single time father and son get together to do that very thing, it’s used as a lesson for the goodness of God in that kid’s life.
Let me tell you something. The next time that that kid goes and runs towards that hobby that he’s learned to do as a kid, he’s always going to bring the Lord into it.  And when he’s raising his generation up, he’s raising his children up, you know what he’s going to do? He’s going to teach his (own) children to associate the wonders and the goodness of God with the things that they love the most in life.  And thus, God is associated with that which is wonderful. – Senior Pastor James Kaddis, Calvary Chapel, Signal Hill.3

Christians – there’s still time until Jesus calls us home.
